Fat Injection
Fat injection is an excellent treatments to fill in deep lines and furrows on the face.
Just like Juvederm, it can easily fill the lines around the mouth, above the nose and increase volume to the face that has deflated over time. Typically, Dr. Shatkin uses fat injection when many areas need to be treated. This becomes more cost effective than Juvederm or other fillers. Dr. Shatkin has developed a unique treatment protocol which he has used for many years with great success. The fat has to be retrieved from some area of excess, usually it is obtained from the abdomen or hip. This is a minor surgical procedure to perform and can be done in less than one hour. After th fat is retrieved it is processed to concentrate the fat cells and then the fat is reinjected in the area to be corrected. A series of 4-5 injections are spaced out over a 6 month periond to maximize the results.
Collagen
Collagen is ideal for the fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, eyes or forehead.
Dr. Shatkin finds it is especially useful for the vertical lines abouve the mouth. It is often combined with other fillers.
Treatment results are immediate and typically last up to six months. Without ongoing treatments, the collagen is gradually absorbed by the body and your face returns to its original contours.
